Hello
there! It's been a long time since I did this, so bear
with me. So, eight months after I last made an album,
here's another one. The plan was that, having a PC
in my room now I'd record more stuff, but aside from
a couple of noodlings not much happened. See, this
was all supposed to be recorded slower, like one song
a day, and while 'or set fire' and 'count planes' were
done in that fashion, the rest was all done in one
sitting (December 10th) with a view to making it a
Christmas present for Tina. That was another idea that
got fucked off, and I'm glad it did because she designed
this gorgeous little cover using photos she took of
a golf course. Or something, ask her.
So, it's not as polished as I'd like, but I'm really
happy with it. It's short and sweet at 30 minutes,
and there's very little fat on it. It's just HIT after
HIT, pop fans! There are a couple of more experimental
things, like 'the clock', which if you're partially
deaf has a sort of rhythm which sounds a bit like a
bongo made out of string. 'tetch' itself was the most
difficult because it always records badly when I have
to play with my actual fingers. See also 'irregular',
which took several thousand takes even though it's
an incredibly simple riff your child could play, if
you had one.
I'm not sure if 'tetch' is a word, but 'tetchy' is,
so when you think about it it probably does mean something.
Tina also inspired a title on here; 'selling fog' comes
from a croatian phrase she was telling me about.
Anyway, for the time being there's just the one mp3,
but I might upload more if you're (a) nice or (b) give
a shit. Don't all rush at once now! |
