This
was the first CD of 2004, and it's primarily a rough
collection of acoustic demos, of varying degrees of
quality. Varying all the way from 'alright' to 'shite'!
Well, you be the judge. Actually, you won't be because
you'll probably never hear all of this CD, god knows
I'm lazy getting them out to people (anyone waiting
for one feel free to hassle me at the usual address,
perhaps even using curse words). The story behing the
title 'Muma' is long. Well, it isn't really long, but
it is tedious, but just know that it's a made-up word
me and Tina use. Any resemblance to other words, living
or dead, is purely coincidental.
Now, if you're in Marketing or Advertising, you're
sitting there stroking your goatee going, 'So hey,
jonny, I like it, but give me something to work
with here, what's your hook? How do we sell
this to the people?' Well I'll tell you: acoustic.
Ever since Kings Of Convenience, people have been saying
that quiet is the new loud, and with this in mind,
plus the burgeoning socio-political instability in
Iraq...oh bollocks to it, it's just some songs. Simple,
low-key acoustic songs to take advantage of the microphone
I got for Christmas from the lovely Tina. So, a couple
of them are in interesting tunings, but do you really
care? No!
The CD was actually made as a present for Tina's birthday,
and as such the first copy came with a massive extra
CD filled with webcam pictures, bonus mp3s including
a terrible Beyoncé cover, and a lengthy 'making
of' video documentary. But you can't have all that.
Haha! Other interesting facts: 'minuscule' was named
after a Björk documentary, and 'sole' is named
after the Anticon rapper who became a strange Tina&Jon
catchphrase for reasons to silly to relate. A proper
album will perhaps be coming soon.
Incidentally, the gorgeous cover photo was shot by
Tina in Manchester's KroBar, during a night out at
the arse-end oflast year involving myself, Tina and
g_[wrd] from the fantastic proper band 52
Teenagers, using g's camera. |
